Law Blog Domain Names
In response to our discussion on starting a law blog, I thought it was worth breaking apart the sub-discussion of how to choose a domain name.
If you don't know, Evernote is one of the most awesome bits of software ever made. Unfortunately, nobody seems to be able to figure out how to integrate it into their productivity system. Which is too bad, because, as I said, it is totally awesome.
Client welcome packages--does anyone have examples?
I really like Allison's idea of creating a client welcome package. Karin has mentioned it in the past, as well. Is anyone doing this? And if so, do you have a sample or a picture of one that you can post? I'd like to gather ideas before I start work…
The iPad thread
Aaron, Randall, and I are all waiting anxiously for iPad 2, but only Aaron already has the first-generation iPad. The trouble is, I'm still not sure how useful the iPad will be for work, as opposed to sitting in bed watching movies.

This week's webinar is going to be a reprise of my paperless office
presentation. We want to get a solid recording for the archives, and
incorporate your experiences, as well. I know some of you have gone paperless recently, and others are still t…
Practical Fee Considerations
We've talked somewhat about some general fee considerations, but as I have more clients coming in the door (Yay!) I am finding that I'm curious about how to determine what types of fees to use and how much ethical leeway I have to modi…
We have taken a couple of approaches to tire kickers.
I used to insist on a consultation fee for all clients. This kept the tire kickers away, entirely.
When we moved into our new office, Randall asked me to make the consultation fee discretiona…
Creative Referral Gifts
What are some creative gifts people have gotten from or given to referral sources? Chocolate and vodka are nice and all, but I feel like I
ought to be able to come up with something more memorable.
